Two-Half Day Pottery Workshop with Ceramic Artist Imogen Head.
This two-part workshop focuses on the making of tea bowls (chawan), approached through traditional handbuilding and carving techniques.
Using a banding wheel, participants will construct and refine forms. Day one introduces the core shapes of chawan, with participants making a series of blank forms.
After partial drying, the second session focuses on carving, including cutting and defining the foot ring.
This is a beginner/intermediate-level class
Each workshop is limited to 8 participants and runs across two 2.5-hour sessions (5 hours total).

Price includes making and firing of one large/two small pieces with a food-safe white glaze. Glazing and firing will be done by studio technicians.
Extra charge for firing of additional pieces can be made on the day.
Due to the nature of the material, pieces can take upwards of a month to be fired and ready for collection.
After firing, pieces will be kept for one month before being donated/disposed of. If you wish for them to be posted please mention on the day of the workshop.
Cancellations by participants made 7 days before the class will receive a full refund. Cancellations after that are non-refundable.
